Hugh McElroy President

Hugh McElroy is President of the BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) Group of companies, and a member of the Executive Management Committee of BBA Aviation plc. He is a veteran aviation executive who has dedicated his career to building organizations that deliver the highest quality of service and technical performance in the aviation and aerospace industry.

As President, Mr. McElroy leads ERO’s efforts to support turbine engine operators in the business & general aviation, airline, government and military market segments. He is responsible for developing and directing the corporation’s business units through sustainable strategic growth initiatives and leading the company’s efforts to provide operators with cost-effective solutions that are value generative to equipment owners, manufacturers and BBA Aviation shareholders.

Mr. McElroy was appointed President of BBA Aviation ERO in September, 2005. Prior to that he held a broad spectrum of senior executive positions such as President, Vice President, General Manager and Director. Whilst serving in BBA Aviation as well as several large corporations he was responsible for manufacturing and service in B&GA, airline and military sectors in fixed wing, rotorcraft and industrial products.

Mr. McElroy is a graduate of Fairfield University, Fairfield, Connecticut where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree followed by other graduate level accreditations. He has held a variety of certifications and licenses including FAA Airframe & Powerplant, Private Pilot, FAA Designated Engineering Representative, FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative and various high level military clearances.

Whilst active in numerous community and industry affairs spanning more than twenty years, Mr. McElroy presently serves a number of civic and professional associations such as Chairman of the Board of Frontiers of Flight Museum (Dallas, Texas), Visitor Board member of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and Member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Dallas Chapter of the American Red Cross.
